The short version: we keep what we need to run your account and forecasts, we never sell your data, our analytics are cookieless and anonymous, and you can delete everything yourself.

Who we are

Tickerday (“Tickerday”, “we”, “us”) operates the Tickerday website and the Tickerday app. We are based in Sweden and are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@tickerday.com.

What we collect

  • Account data — your email address, a securely hashed password (we never see the password itself), and optionally a display name and profile photo. If you sign in with Apple, we receive the identifier and email Apple shares with us.
  • Usage data — the stocks you analyze, the forecasts you save to your Almanac, your credit balance and ledger, your market preference, and whether you opted in to notifications.
  • Subscription data — your plan, renewal date and purchase events, delivered to us by RevenueCat on behalf of the App Store or our web billing provider. We never receive or store card numbers.
  • Referral and partner data — the invite or partner code you joined with, and, for partners, earnings and payout records.
  • Push token — if you turn on weather alerts, the device token needed to deliver them.
  • Support messages — what you send us when you contact support.

Analytics without cookies

To understand how the website is used we count page views, searches and sign-ups. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. Each visit is attributed to an anonymous identifier computed from a secret that rotates daily, your IP address and your browser type. The IP address itself is never stored, and the identifier cannot be linked to you across days. Aggregated statistics are kept for up to 13 months.

Cookies

We only set strictly necessary cookies: your session when you log in, a counter for the free forecasts a visitor gets before creating an account, your chosen market, and — if you arrived through an invite, partner or promo link — that code, so it can be applied when you sign up. No cookie is used for advertising.

Why we process your data

  • To provide the service (contract): accounts, forecasts, credits, subscriptions, the Almanac, referral rewards.
  • To keep Tickerday working and safe (legitimate interest): preventing abuse, fixing errors, measuring what is used.
  • To notify you (consent): weather-change alerts only if you turn them on. You can turn them off at any time in the app or in your device settings.
  • To meet legal obligations: accounting records for purchases and partner payouts.

Who processes it for us

We use a small number of providers, each bound by a data-processing agreement:

  • Supabase(database, authentication and server functions) — hosted in the European Union (Ireland).
  • Vercel (website hosting and content delivery).
  • RevenueCat (subscription management) and Apple or our web billing provider (payment processing).
  • Expo (push notification delivery), only if you enable alerts.
  • Market data and AI providers(Finnhub, Yahoo Finance, Financial Modeling Prep, Google Gemini) receive only stock symbols and market data — never anything about you.

Some providers process data outside the EU/EEA. Where they do, transfers rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

  • Account and usage data: for as long as your account exists.
  • Purchase and payout records: as long as bookkeeping law requires (typically seven years in Sweden).
  • Anonymous web statistics: up to 13 months.
  • Support messages: up to two years after the matter is closed.

Deleting your account

In the app, open Settings and choose Delete account. Your account and everything tied to it (forecast history, Almanac, credits, push token) is permanently removed. You can also email us at support@tickerday.com from your account address and we will do it for you. Records we must keep by law are retained separately for that purpose only.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, a copy in a portable format, or restriction of processing, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email support@tickerday.comand we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — in Sweden, the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Children

Tickerday is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email.
